Wild Type is a new startup that is using cellular agriculture to grow cultured salmon meat. Founded by Justin Kolbeck and AryƩ Elfenbien, their mission is to sustainably produce food to combat global food insecurity. In March 2018, Wild Type announced that they received $3.5 million in seed funding to scale production of their cultured salmon meat. In 2019, Wild Type showcased the first ever cell-based salmon meat
