About the job:

- Work with our media development team to push the boundaries of traditional media formulations for food-related species

- Conduct focused independent experiments to develop, characterize, and validate novel formulations of cell culture media

- Perform high-throughput screens for novel media formulations

- Train research associates on new assays and techniques

- Perform tissue culture work, including culture maintenance, characterization, and expansion

About you:

- Mission-driven, creative, and entrepreneurial; able to move projects forward in the face of continuously evolving priorities

- Able to apply expertise in chemistry and biology to the development and testing of novel cell culture media formulations

- A deep understanding of the physical and biological properties of cell culture media components is required

- Experience in developing xeno-free, serum-free, chemically-defined, custom, or basal cell culture media is preferred

- Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field with a focus on metabolic pathways; at least 2 years of relevant industry experience is preferred

- Experience in biochemical analytical assays, aseptic technique, and cell culture

- Proficiency in statistical tools and Design of Experiment is a plus, but not required

- Able to work independently in the context of experimental design, execution, optimization, data analysis, and interpretation of scientific results
