Head of Sales

As the Head Of Sales you are responsible for achieving sales objectives consistent with corporate volume and profit targets. The Head Of Sales has direct responsibility across the US and job functions include gaining new accounts, increasing sales in current accounts and overall account management for the US. The Head Of Sales is the primary communication link between buyers and the marketing team and is responsible to ensure appropriate resources are available and communication channels are open to guarantee successful execution of all marketing programs into the field. We are looking for a passionate, mission-motivated leader who loves animals (especially dogs)!!


- Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts

- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base

- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting business relationships

- Partner with buyers to understand their business needs and objectives

- Effectively communicate the value proposition of non-animal based dog food

- Understand category-specific landscapes and trends


- Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets

- Previous experience as a sales manager or sales and marketing director

- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services

- Proven ability to position products against competitors

- Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions

- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- BA/BS degree or equivalent

- Must LOVE dogs!!! : )
