Quality Assurance Associate

Perfect Day

Perfect Day is working to commercialize animal-free dairy protein products made through fermentation in flora. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, Quality Assurance Associate to join our Quality team. This position is responsible for strengthening the food safety and quality systems throughout the company. The QA associate will assist QA manager oversee the function and performance of the company’s QA and Regulatory Affairs. They will prepare and lead all co-manufacturers audit functions and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.

Your Contribution

- Assist QA manager establish food safety/quality policies for Perfect Day and Co-Manufacturers

- Help QA manager appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied

- Assist QA manager conduct investigation relating to customer complaints, determine root cause and purpose corrective action.

- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data

- Review current standards and policies, make proper revision to include verification and validation

- Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation

- Ensure all legal standards are met.

- Ensure co-packers, co-manufacturers and 3rd party warehouses meet Food Safety and quality standard and comply with food safety regulations.

- Responsible for annual HACCP assessments

- Assist QA manager for continued growth of internal quality systems

- Works cooperatively with, Product Development, manufacturing and analytic team

- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

- Document control and change management.


- BS or higher in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field with minimum 3 years of QA experience in Dairy and or food Industry.

- Must have experience in the development and implementation of QA programs in Food/Dairy products.

- High level of technical aptitude.

- Experience with internal audits; SQF, PCQI certified

- HACCP, GMP, sanitation and internal audit

- Experienced in Quality Management System; food safety, product quality and regulatory agencies compliance such as, FDA, CDPH, and USDA.

- Ability to adapt and excel in a rapidly changing environment.

- Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards

- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods

- Ability to prepare SOP, SSOP, food safety policies, and product quality specifications

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects/workload.

- Self-starter with good organizational skills; able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
