Technician - Fat Tissue Production

We're working on a challenging and incredibly exciting mission: to bring cultured meat to market. To do this, a crucial part is creating fat tissue. As a technician in our friendly and dedicated Fat Tissue Production team, you will help engineer fat tissue of sufficient maturity to serve as substrate for consumable meat.

Your responsibilities:

- Conduct cell and tissue culture of adipose tissue towards functional, morphological and lipidomic optimisation

- Work creatively on various strategies, including cell selection, cell (co)culture, cell-biomaterial interaction and maturation approaches

- Collaborate with postdocs, PhDs and other technicians, overseen by the Chief Scientific Officer

What we're looking for:

- Bachelors degree in Cell Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or related field

- Knowledge and experience in the isolation of adipocytes from tissue, as well as in the growth, maintenance and differentiation of adipocytes

- Experience in molecular biology techniques (eg. Immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, PCR, microscopy)

- Ability to design, execute and plan your experiments independently, and demonstrate critical thinking in your analysis of the data

- Results-driven, with a capacity for applied research to achieve specific goals

- Excellent organisational skills, time management and structured method of working

- A proactive team player

- Good written and verbal communication skills (minimum B2 level English)

- Industry experience (preferable)

- Ability to commence soon (preferable)
