As we continue to grow we are seeking to hire a Senior Research Associate for our Cell Engineering/High-throughput screening team.
- Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology or Biochemistry.
- A foundation of basic scientific and analytical principles obtained through academic training and/or industrial experience.
- Strong fundamental understanding of Molecular Biology, Synthetic/Chemical Biology and Biochemistry (i.e., cell culturing, PCR, Western Blotting, ELISA-like immunoassays, in-vitro screening, protein purification).
- Possesses good organizational, communication, analytical, computer, and technical writing skills.
- High degree of personal accountability, with the ability to work independently and deliver results within project specific timelines.
- Self-motivated, passionate about your work, and enthusiastic about contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Executes experiments independently or as directed by the supervisor in a timely fashion and communicates results within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Effectively troubleshoots experiments to allow for appropriate interpretation and generation of high-quality data.
- Applies relevant scientific principles, techniques and instrumentation to research problems.
- Analyzes and interprets data to determine relevant next steps and critically discusses experiments and results.
- Demonstrates technical proficiency, scientific creativity, independent thought, and ability to collaborate with others on cross functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment consisting of internal and external team members.
- Possesses knowledge and experience in the areas of protein/protein interactions, enzymology, vector manipulation, high-throughput screening campaigns.
- Keeps up with the latest scientific and engineering developments by reading the current literature and attending conferences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other scientific software used to design and analyze biological data like JMP, Vector NTI, and Spotfire.
- Complies and contributes to all safety requirements and to lab equipment maintenance to help create a safe, effective and efficient working environment.
- Maintains detailed, up to date, and witnessed laboratory notebooks.
