Here at Modern Meadow we are harnessing the power of design, biology, and engineering to produce biofabricated leather materials. Applying the latest tools of biotechnology, we are creating a new type of materials company. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an IT Director to develop our systems and processes across existing and new sites.

As an IT leader for the organization, the ideal candidate will be expected to have an in-depth knowledge of current and upcoming trends in the IT field. The IT Director will make impactful decisions around our information technology and infrastructure and help our team solve day-to-day issues and questions.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the management and evaluation of the entire technology ecosystem for Modern Meadow. Identify inefficiencies and gaps and propose solutions.

- Provide thought leadership and expertise on industry trends and ensure that the company IT infrastructure is aligned with best practices.

- Establish maintain and enforce companywide IT policies and procedures (e.g. for network security, usage, social network, etc).

- Partner with business leaders to identify technology needs, gather requirements, and implement solutions.

- Manage IT budgeting, vendor relationships, and drive value, cost and risk analysis of services offerings and find opportunities for cost savings, without sacrifice to quality

- Own the technology onboarding process for all new hires (e.g. computer assignment, account set up, and training)

- Oversee IT maintenance and upgrades across all Modern Meadow offices. Securely manage the purchasing and inventory tracking of all technology assets and peripherals.

- Provide technical support to the organization, which may include troubleshooting computer issues (Mac/PC), conference room setup, AV setup in the auditorium

Requirements:

- BSc/BA in computer science, MIS, or relevant field

- A minimum of minimum 4-7 years in an IT management position

- Flexibility to work out of Modern Meadow’s Brooklyn office (when required)

- Ability to respond to IT emergencies 24x7 365 and work on occasional weekends, as needed

- Knowledge of enterprise cloud solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure)

- Experience in managing the implementation of best-in-class network security solutions to ensure integrity of confidential information, intellectual property, and user/personnel data

- Proven experience as an IT lead in organizations with small networks

- Experience in end to end implementation (including documentation) of enterprise wide systems (e.g. ERP, Data analytics solutions)

- Sound understanding of enterprise technology including hardware/software - Windows and OSX, network and server administration

- Experience managing an IT budget

- AV and VC experience

- Experience managing internal and/or external moves to new office space

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as this person will be interacting with multiple business lines

- Experience with LIMS and working in a Lab environment is a plus

- Experience of working in biotech or lab environment advantageous

- Experience in a startup environment is a plus
