Senior Research Associate, Analytical Chemistry

JUST is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Research Associate to be a part of our Analytical Chemistry team. You will play a key role in supporting our ongoing product development and research projects. As a member of the Analytical Chemistry team, you will be exposed to the full spectrum of projects in Cellular Agriculture, Process Sciences, and Product Development. The position will provide an opportunity to work with advanced analytical instrumentation and participate in the development of new methods that contribute to the continued expansion of analytical capabilities.


- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis using a variety of techniques and approaches including HPLC, GC and other alternative methods

- Responsible for performing routine sample preparation and proximate analysis of bulk components (protein, fats, carbohydrates, ash, and moisture)

- Manage the extensive maintenance and troubleshooting of various sample preparation and analytical instruments

- Responsible for properly calibrating and creating quality checks to verify performance and define the error or variability of analytical instruments and methods

- Assist in the development, validation, and documentation of analytical methods.

- Summarize and report method development efforts in collaborative meetings with other R&D groups

- Always conduct work in a safe manner, consistent with best practices in laboratory safety and environmental stewardship guidelines

- Perform additional laboratory duties as required to support R&D and company projects

About You

Education & Experience

- B.S/M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry or related field with 5+ years of of relevant industrial experience

- Experience with chromatography systems (GC or LC)

- Previous experience in amino acid and peptide analysis preferred
