Project Manager

Geltor is looking for a PROJECT MANAGER to join our Operations team in San Leandro, CA. This role, Project Manager, will manage multiple projects throughout concept to commercialization phases to ensure on-time delivery of innovative fermentation-based protein products to consumer markets. They will work collaboratively across various technical, operational and business teams to ensure clear communication and tracking of project goals, deliverables and status.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage full life cycle of cross-functional, new product introduction projects from initiation and planning through execution and close. Primary responsibilities span Research and Process Development, Manufacturing, Operations, and Business Development teams.

- Work with technical and business leaders to determine appropriate scope, timeline, resources and budget for projects

- Partner with initiative leaders to ensure effective and timely completion of deliverables and to ensure the team achieves and maintains a high level of sustainable performance

- Oversee performance of CROs and third-party vendors to ensure work performed is in accordance with scope of work or clinical trial protocol; identify areas of concern and escalate to leadership as needed

- Facilitate project team meetings, cross-functional communication, and decision making

- Provide project coordination and communication, including participation in technical calls and face-to-face meetings, development of agendas, creation of meeting minutes, tracking of action items, and scheduling of follow-up meetings

- Leading all communications, upward and downward through the organization; Raise and facilitate resolution of issues relating to team dynamics and changes in project schedules, strategy, risks, & priorities.

- Collect and publish updates on all project-based activities in project tracking software

- Assist in preparing presentations, updating corporate project plans, etc.

- Other responsibilities as needed


- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline

- Experience in the food, cosmetics or scientific industry with exposure to fermentation-based products is highly preferred

- 5+ years of total work experience with minimum 1-2 years in project management

- PMP or Scrum certifications are nice to have

- Well organized and efficient, with strong attention to detail

- Self-motivated and ability to function effectively with limited direction

- Ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders using good conflict management skills

- Familiarity with waterfall, agile or hybrid project management approaches

- Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana,, or similar

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and complete high quality projects amidst tight timelines and competing deadlines; exceptional attention to detail

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to discuss complex technical concepts with a variety of audiences
