Bioprocess Engineer

As a Bioprocess Engineer you will create the engineering systems that enable Finless Foods to commercialize its technology. You will participate in designing the bioreactors and media tanks that feed cell growth in small lab settings through fully scaled systems. This role will work in concert with the cellular biology and tissue engineering teams

Responsibilities

- Scale growth and production of established animal cell lines to manufacturing levels

- Manage process optimization and development

- Analyze and optimize metabolic flux in bioreactors

- Optimize media and cell lines for scalable culture conditions

- Identify outside vendors and resources where appropriate and oversee external projects required to accomplish project goals

- Oversee development/specification/procurement and installation of bioprocess hardware and automation necessary to execute and monitor bioprocesses

- Rigorous documentation of experimental procedures and data

- Contribute to regulatory submissions and inspections as appropriate as a subject matter expert representing our bioprocess

- Define parameters to increase yield, rate, titer, purity, cell density, robustness and stability of cell-cultures

About You

Education & Experience

- B.S. in Chemical Engineering / Bioengineering MEng/MS; or product development Master’s or PhD in Biomedical/Biochemical/Tissue Engineering or related field Master’s or PhD in Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering or a related field

- 5+ years of process development for animal cell culture, tissue engineering, and/or pharmaceutical fermentation

- Understanding of GMP and relevant ISOs

Skills & Qualifications

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and low-structure environment

- Hacker/maker/builder traits embedded in your DNA, you live and breathe engineering

- Bioprocess manufacturing facility operation

- Driven to improve standard processes and develop innovative unit processes

- Technical knowledge or expertise in development, implementation and optimization of fermentation processes strongly preferred

- Experience in pilot and industrial settings preferred
