VP of Operations

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Role and Responsibilities:


- Function as the operational counterpart to the CEO by managing senior leaders to ensure each team’s goals promote rapid growth, stay within budget, and are executed upon in a timely manner

- Engender a culture of accountability with strong KPIs & OKRs that facilitate focus and accurately monitor performance

- Build a sophisticated operational infrastructure that supports scalability and organizational flexibility

- Translate strategic roadmaps into clear and actionable business plans

- Lead weekly leadership meetings and quarterly off-sites with objectivity, diplomacy, and effectiveness

- Guide complex, ambiguous business decisions with rigorous analysis and influential communication


- Full P&L responsibility and ownership of the financial model

- Understand the mandate of each business function and partner with department heads to lead financial planning processes (e.g. business reviews, budgets, forecasts, long-term plans)

- Work closely with external firms to manage key accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, payroll, benefits, employee expenses, stock administration, audits, compliance and tax obligations


- Lead strategic human capital conversations to inform organizational design and development

- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting and retention strategy


- Manage risk and oversee key legal processes in partnership with our outside Counsel

- Oversee facilities management to ensure a productive work environment for all employees


- 10+ years of experience in management consulting, venture capital, and/or business operations

- Leadership experience at a high-growth startup

- MBA or Master’s degree in a management, technical, or engineering field

- Excellent project management, problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills

- Experience with managing and/or implementing people, culture, or employee resource programs

- Capacity to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and action plans

- Ability to communicate strategically and technically with board member and investors

- Must be authorized to work in the United States for Clara Foods
