Reports To: Senior Automation Specialist

Skills and Experience:

- Experienced in the use of robotics systems such as QPix, Biomek FX for HTP screening as well as Molecular Devices Spectramax spectrophotometer

- Some experience in optimizing data analysis and machine control software

- BS in molecular biology, bio-engineering or similar program with 0 to 3 years’ experience in an industrial setting (e.g. industrial biotechnology, biofuels, synthetic biology)

- Comfortable working within a small, collaborative team, passionate about changing the world of food

- Strong interest in working with lab safety, e.g. handling hazmat, chemical hygiene, compliance, training, etc

- Some experience with sterile technique and basic microbiology methods preferred

- Familiarity with standard synthetic biology techniques preferred but not required

- It is critical that the candidate have exceptional attention to detail

Role and Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Strain Engineering team, you will:

- Run HTP screening program using Qpix and Biomek FX robots and be responsible for maintenance of the equipment

- Work alongside creative, innovative scientists

- Document results and report to team members

- Work with the company’s safety committee as needed
