We’re Looking For...

A Facilities & Lab Operations Coordinator (open to a Specialist for the right level of experience) who is a self-starter who can own multiple tasks and projects from inception to completion. This person will demonstrate a strong customer service orientation, attention to detail, wear many hats and be able to work with multiple priorities and deadlines. Someone with a willingness to run toward problems and take them head-on. Someone who understands that no job is too small to add value and improve efficiencies across a wide range of facilities and lab operation processes.

Within the first 30 days you will...

- Establish positive relationship with key stakeholders (workplace ops, office managers, engineering, purchasing and lab managers)

- Complete all necessary trainings to be on Emergency Response and First Aid Response Teams

- Become proficient with the use of the current asset management system & PM program for Lab and Facilities equipment

- Familiarize yourself with the processes for establishing contracts & executing PMs on lab and facilities equipment

- Take ownership for keeping Facilities and Equipment posts on the company intranet up to date

- Take ownership of Facilities areas, ensuring that they are kept tidy, safe, and presentable to visitors

- Take over the access control system as primary administrator

- Learn how to handle common requests with limited direction (examples: earthquake strapping, storage set-up, receiving & moving materials, safety inspections, event set-up, etc.)

- Develop vendor relationships to streamline the sale/donation/disposal of underutilized lab equipment & Supplies

- Establish a positive relationship with property management and learn the ticketing system

In the first 60 days you will...

- Complete an inventory of all equipment on site using current systems

- Provide primary back-up for Lab Manager when needed, on most operations issues

- Proactively identify and address opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, or cost of facilities work and equipment

- Learn other key workplace operations processes in order to provide back-up for other team members

This Team will be Excited to Have You Because You Bring...

- Technical school, Associate Degree (engineering/science/lab operations), Mechanical Trade or equivalent industry experience

- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in either facilities or lab operations

- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot repairs

- Proficiency with common hand tools

- Comfort with using facilities management software (security access, PM software, etc.)

- A safety-conscious mindset

- Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

- Have a valid and current driver’s license

- Must be able to be “on call” to respond to emergency response calls and facilities issues

- Knowledge of biological and/or chemical research facilities is a plus

- Experience driving a forklift a plus
