Biotech Foods is the first Spanish startup looking to develop cell-based meat. Based in San Sebastian, Biotech Foods aims to sustainably produce animal products to feed the world. In November 2021, major meat corporate JBS announced the acquisition of Biotech Foods as part of its $100 million plan to enter the cell-based meat industry. Biotech Foods' first brand line, Ethicameat, will be a sustainable alternative to conventional meat.
